GLCC Ultimate Adventure Ride
Join GLCC Ultimate Adventure Ride as a pre-Christmas jolly. Meet up at Waitomo and cycle to Whangamomona. We’ll stay at the Whangamomona hotel for the night. Where we’ll Tell tall tales. The next day we get up and cycle back to Waitomo.
There’s a mixture between seal and gravel, but can be ridden on a road bike.

This ride promises to be one of the most spectacular rides you’ll have ridden in New Zealand. It’s a mix of gravel and tar seal, but road bikes will be fine. With old tunnels, waterfalls, bridges, and great scenery, this will be the highlight ride of 2018.
If we get enough riders we may have to split into two groups. This will allow those that want to smash it, just to go for it. The rest of us will be stopping to take pictures and just enjoying the ride for what it is. We expect the average speed to be 24/28kph.
Book your hotel early. Strictly limited accommodation. The only other things you’ll need are some jandals, a tooth brush, and a change of clothes. Whether you carry them in a bar bag, or on your back, that’s entirely up to you. There’s not much in the way of cafés, so carry what you need to ride 160km.
On arrival at the Republic of Whangamomona we’ll be staying at the hotel. Dinner will be available, as will beer.
