The hill climb is 0.9km long and has an average 18% grade.

The fastest male and female in each age category will receive a small prize, after all, this is just a bit of fun. And small prizes for kids under 16 (if there are any crazy enough to enter)

Rules and Regulations

Only riders registered on GLCC Facebook or Strava page are eligible to compete in the Te Aute hill climb challenge.

The winners are determined by the fastest elapsed time between the bottom and top of the hill as determined by Strava ‘on the day’ tab. If the Strava timing system does not capture a start and finish time for the hill climb segment, the rider is excluded from the competition.

The age categories are: Under 16 open, 16-24, 25-34, 35-49, 50-65, and 65+

The fastest overall male rider and fastest overall female rider, regardless of age category, will each be awarded the KoM and QoM title. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the first rider up the hill. If the riders are still tied, the winner will be decided by coin toss.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety, as this is a fun guerrilla event.

Also please be aware of Rule #5

Details of the hill climb can be seen on Strava

The winning riders will be announced as soon as possible after the results are in, hopefully everyone does upload to Strava immediately. The winners will be notified on Strava by all the Kudos they receive.
